An office property in Liverpool, the former Pearl Assurance House, has reportedly received £2.5 million from Hong Kong-based investors Mordril Estates for an extensive refurbishment project.

According to the Liverpool Post, Mordril has renamed the building to One Derby Square as part of the agreement, and is now aiming to let the 25,600 sq ft of office space.

Anil Shivdasani, director of Mordril, said that the building has been "brought up to 21st-century standards".

Online reports claim that HSBC has already agreed to let a portion of office space at the property, while Pret a Manger and Blankstone opticians have also reportedly taken up retail space.
